Pilanesberg National Park, North West Province, South Africa
Self-Catering & Non Self-Catering Accommodation with Camping & Caravan Sites
Only Chalets closed due to fire damage
The Manyane Resort is situated on the edge of the Pilanesberg National Park. This game reserve is in the crater of a long extinct volcano formed by eruptions approximately 1300 million years ago, which is now home to a wide diversity of wild animals including the Big 5. Numerous Stone and Iron Age sites, scattered throughout the park offer proof of mans early habitation in the Pilanesberg.
The Pilanesberg Game Reserve is located between the dry Kalahari and the wetter Lowveld (as found in the Kruger Park) with an overlap of mammals, birds and vegetation from the various biomes in this transition zone. Animals such as springbok, hartebeest and brown hyena, normally found in arid areas, are here living side-by-side with the more moist-area residents, such as impala, giving a wide diversity of species for guests staying at Manyane to see. The topography too is stunningly beautiful, with hills, the high edge of the caldera, forested ravines, the bushveld and rolling grasslands.
Manyane Camp, in the Pilanesberg National Park is an approximate two hours drive from Johannesburg, with the resort about 10 minutes drive from the Sun City entrance. Manyane offers a variety of accommodation, 2 sleeper chalets with one bedroom, 4 sleeper Chalets with one bedroom and an upstairs loft room, alternatively in safari tents. There is also a caravan and camp site. There is a restaurant, swimming pool, playground for children and an interesting indigenous bird aviary. Guided game drives in the Pilanesberg National Park may be booked in advance or alternatively guests may drive themselves.

We are only a booking service to secure accommodation at a number of the Golden Leopard Resort accommodation venues. We are in no way responsible for the condition of the facilities, which due to severe budgetary cuts from the Provincial Government, has resulted in a lack of general maintenance over the years.
The Park authorities are well aware of this inability to carry out basic necessary maintenance and are endeavouring to source the necessary funds which to date have not become available. Far and Wild Safaris has no control over the allocation of units and their condition. Should you choose to visit these venues and subsequently find fault with the accommodation and or service, we are only able to forward your comments to the Park authorities. There is no compensation for this status quo should it not meet your expectation. Please contact ourselves should you require further clarification.
